Hidden Fences

  • Dynasty Typewriter at The Hayworth (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Written and starring comedian Jordan Temple, Hidden Fences is an absurd comedic mashup of a play inspired by the viral mistakes made at last years Golden Globes and Academy Awards that combined the movies 'Hidden Figures' and 'Fences' into 'Hidden Fences'. In the play, Troy from Fences wants to be the first black man to hit a baseball into space and the Hidden Figures do the math to help get it there. Hidden Fences is inspired by comedies such as "In Living Color" and "Atlanta" and make references to multiple black movies, music, and pop culture all while remaining completely absurd and laugh-demanding. Hidden Fences has been staged several times in N.Y. and was most recently showcased at The New York Comedy Festival. It proudly makes it's L.A. debut at The Dynasty Typewriter with the help of producer/director Jermaine Fowler.

Each night opens with special stand-up sets from:

6/7 Baron Vaughn and Jak Knight

6/8 Nore Davis and Janelle James

Cast:
Langston Kerman
Tahlia Robinson
Shalewa Sharpe
Karolena Theresa
Biniam Bizuneh

Who Made The Potato Salad? - Women Of Color Takeover!

Who Made The Potato Salad? - Women Of Color Takeover!

Created and hosted by Xochitl Mayo, co-produced by Maria Luisa Acabado, Who Made The Potato Salad? is where a comedy show made in 24 hours happens at a popping a** party!

We premiered on November 4th, 2017 at The Tank to a SOLD OUT 100+ seat theatre. This show hopes to resurrect the days of Def Jam, where the audience was just as much a part of the show as the talent!

This show is lit AF. We provide a little drank, cookout bites, dancers, and a DJ! We allow one token white to attend the cookout, but if they dance off beat they may get kicked TF out by Aunite Jessica Clemons... Who knows?!

March is Women's History Month - so you know we had to do a WOMEN OF COLOR TAKEOVER! The show will be starring some of the hardest working women of color in the industry. Not only will we have women of color in the spotlight on stage, but women of color will also be writing, directing, producing, and managing behind the scenes. Come see what we ladies can do with a full day and a common goal in mind.

Writers meet at 8am. Scripts are done by 3:30pm. Actors arrive at 5pm and the show goes live at 11pm - NO MATTER WHAT!

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door
